Designing a compelling video abstract to promote IBM Watson at global conferences.

CASE STUDY

The Question

How do we visually represent and adequately explain the technology platform IBM Watson to the public?

The Process

We worked with IBM and Pearson to develop creative direction and guide a team of six designers through the process of creating thoughtful, thorough, and finished designs.

Through user research and design and product strategy, we identified the necessary components to include in a video abstract that explains the cognitive computing technology to educators around the world. We also utilized creative direction and facilitation to align the designers around a focused goal – to work toward a final product while being open to the design process – to overcome roadblocks and meet a two-week deadline.

The Result

We navigated obstacles as a team to design at the speed of business and craft a public-facing video abstract. The video articulates how IBM Watson supports the professional development of today’s modern educator.

The Outcome

We created a successful visual product used by Corporate Vice President Stanley Litow and other business leaders at conferences around the world.

Our work was picked up and continued by a product team.
